Résumé

Introduction : Les ostéosarcomes mandibulaires sont relativement rares par rapport à ceux qui se produisent dans les os longs et partagent des caractéristiques histopathologiques similaires. Un diagnostic précoce et une résection complète de la lésion sont nécessaires pour un meilleur pronostic. Dans ce travail nous rapportons un cas d’ostéosarcome mandibulaire géant chez une femme de 52 ans.

Observation : Il s’agit d’une femme de 52 ans non éthylotabagique qui présentait une tumeur mandibulaire droite d’évolution rapide. La clinique a trouvé une tumeur bien limitée de
grande taille faisant corps à l’os, indolore, non saignante. La radiographie du crâne a objectivé une opacité hétérogène mandibulaire, assez bien limitée avec image en « feu d’herbe » et ostéolyse mandibulaire. Elle a bénéficié d’une exérèse chirurgicale dont le résultat anatomopathologique a révélé un ostéosarcome mandibulaire.

Conclusion : L’ostéosarcome mandibulaire est une affection rare. L’exérèse chirurgicale précoce est le traitement de choix et donne un meilleur pronostic.

Abstract

Introduction: Mandibular osteosarcomas are relatively rare compared to those occurring in the long bones and share similar histopathologic features. Early diagnosis and complete
resection of the lesion are necessary for a better prognosis. In this work we report a case of giant mandibular osteosarcoma in a 52-year-old patient.

Observation:This is a 52 year old non ethylotabagic woman who presented with a rapidly evolving right mandibular tumor. The clinic found a large, well-limited tumor that was painless, non-bleeding, and was attached to the bone. The skull radiograph showed a heterogeneous mandibular opacity, limited with a "grass fire" image and mandibular osteolysis. She underwent surgical excision, the anatomical result of which revealed a mandibular osteosarcoma.

Conclusion: Mandibular osteosarcoma is a rare condition. Early surgical excision is the treatment of choice and gives a better prognosis.
